Kelly + Chris : Westside LA Engagement

Okay so you know its a special connection when you meet a couple and you have just about everything in common (except maybe surfing, i’ll try harder chris I promise but the waves just toss me around like a flounder in a tsunami). For their engagement photos Kelly and Chris asked us if we could capture them in their natural state … well as close to it as possible. It struck a familiar chord. They wanted to “get ready” together for the shoot. You know when you have a hotel room and there is not much to do, all you want to do is take your sweet time listening to tiny iphone speakers and share an over-priced bottle of mini bar champagne and leave late just so you can hang out together longer (?). So thats what we did. Plus the finding ourselves on the beach in malibu with a full moon didnt hurt anything either ; ).

Also we are so excited to work with Kelly’s coordinator Angela Tormey-Margolis this february at the Bacara in santa barbara.

And they chose the Shangri La Hotel in Santa Monica to “get ready” in … they apparently (to our surprise) didnt have anyone staying in the penthouse that night, so the staff let us hang out in a room bigger than my house on the 8th floor of the hotel. For sunset we raced north to the Malibu Country Market and sand across the street …. not to mention witnessed the raddest moonlit coast I’ve seen in a long time. Cant wait for february.
