Dave and Ellen are the self proclaimed duke and dutchess of long beach (the ‘Thorntons of Third Street’ to be exact)… okay maybe I’m the one that proclaimed that …. but if you go to any hotspot in our city and mention either one of them, chances are someone in the room will know at least one of them. Ellen used to be the managing editor for the OC Weekly and head editor for the District Weekly in Long Beach, so it helped her mucho to have a solid grasp as to whats going on around town. I met Dave my first day at the camera store in 2005 (jump in the time machine folks we’re going way back!). He was hired just a bit before me. Ever since then we’ve shared a passion for photography (healthier and more productive than our mutual love for craft beer : ). All of the wedding photographers Dave has met through the years at Samys Camera could fill a phone book, so I was elated when he chose us to be there for him. Both are smarter than anyone you know and sweet down to the core, so a simple, stylish, extremely local, outdoor celebration at the Long Beach Museum of Art was the absolute perfect place for them to tie the knot.
